Got a second campus job doing data-entry and I am having so much fun. My employers are amazing people.
First job as assistant house manager at the Mondavi Center is still going awesomely well. I think its the best campus job ever since people are paying hundreds to see world famous acts like Yo-Yo Ma and Joshua Bell, and you are getting paid instead to watch it.
Also managed to snag a dental internship right here in Davis. This is such a huge blessing because it goes by a lottery system and I was fortunate enough to be given an early sign up slot so could pick the limited available slots for Davis and not have to travel out of town to other clinics on a weekly basis.
Made a commitment to get more involved in my local campus christian fellowship and met many new amazing people.
Yes, on top of my studies, this leaves me virtually no time for frivolous stuff. But on the upside, I have become way more productive heh.
A new guy recently moved into our place and so the landlord-housemate of mine decided to lower my rent to $240 and still keep his offer of covering all utilities and internet etc. I am still in disbelief because there is no way you can get such incredibly cheap rent for such an awesome cozy fully furnished place like this. I was totally expecting only a $25 decrease since its only the bathroom I would be sharing but omg $60 less? And the rent itself was already low enough to begin with. Plus he still buys us dinners and goodies every now and then. Do I have a great housemate or what.
With the addition of my second job, which I got because I was worried I wouldn't have enough money silly me, I now have more than what I need. And so I think its time to give back and bless others ♥

New Beginnings

So what can I say?
This year is vastly different from the last and could very well be the year according to my friends.
I didn't blog much last year cause while there were a few blessings in between every now and then, it was mostly hellish thanks to demanding unreasonable boss lady (who I later forgive cause she became very nice and understanding towards the end) and spiteful housemates who got what they deserved in the end.
I personally think they have low self esteem issues they need to deal with, since they can never stop bitching and gossiping, because until you can love yourself, you're gonna hate on others forever because you think they are better than you and you can never be the same when you damn well can if you just throw away all those negativity and do something about whatever you're unhappy about.
Looking back, I find it amusing how all the malicious plans they came up with kept backfiring upon them instead. And this is why, girls, instead of bitching with other girls, you should be reading up on the laws, plan 5 steps ahead of people and speak to authorities. And stay as innocent as doves in the meantime and not do anything that can implicate yourself. That is how you win.
Long story short, they lost everything thanks to justice.
Which I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for as 2nd sis and I had offered them many ways out but they chose to reject them all in favor of finding ways to make us suffer. Moreover, we had been nothing but nice to them the whole time, sharing all our stuff which was 90% of the house, but instead of being thankful, they got jealous and wanted to control it and keep us from using our own stuff and later deluded themselves into thinking it's actually theirs, oh the absurdity of it all. I will forever remember that day where our patience finally snapped and got our friends to haul everything out and left, leaving them with an empty house and a serious slap back to reality where they realize that life don't always play out like stupid 'Mean Girls' movies cause some people ain't got time for all that stupid passive aggressive games. I always thought settling things the 'animal kingdom way' made much more sense than 'girl world' anyways.
Nevertheless, hellish as the year had been in the later months, one thing of importance to note was that despite it all, He was always there. When obstacles kept coming up, He never failed to send the right people and right things we need at the very moment we desperately need it. I know people always like to ask 'if He loved you so much, why make you suffer?' but that is not it. Humans and our sinful nature causes sufferings but it is Him who redeem us all. The question should be 'if it wasn't for His unfailing love and mercy in this dark world, imagine how much worse life would be?'
Anyways, this fall we moved to another place where rent is cheaper and utilities are all taken care of and its only me, 2nd sis and this other dude (who's the owner and practically Ouran worthy minus the looks sadly) and so its all nice and quiet ♥
Got accepted back into school as in-state students finally and so everything is covered by financial aid :)
Got a car too!
Meet Betty Cooper.
Yes, Betty Cooper (Archie comics) because its a mini cooper hence Cooper and Betty cause she's depicted to be awesome at fixing cars in the comics.
We're super happy okay because a car has been on our list for a long time but for some reason it just couldn't happen even though my sister bf wanted to lend us his dinosaur of a manual car and now I can see its because He had something better in store for us all these while and we just had to wait patiently. The church member decided to bless us by selling it to us for $2500, which is less than half the market price, instead of making a profit by selling it to others.
I am so in love with it because it's the first small car I'd ever driven. My large family of 6 made it impossible for us to have sedans so it has always been big four wheel drives and vans that made my parking experiences an endless nightmare, oh the stories I could tell you about how I always never fail to get stuck in compact parking spaces and have people get utterly fed up of me :C
This car is simply perfect ♥
Lastly, I got a new job! On campus too! No more working for minimum wage!
It's an assistant manager job which I'm quite apprehensive about since the requirements are so high but hey, for some reason I was chosen for this position and rejected for all my more favored easier clerical ones so I guess there must be a reason I got this job. It's definitely going to require a lot out of me but at this point I'm starting to realize that when has life ever been easy for me? And honestly, I kind of like it. The challenges it bring where I'm forced to constantly learn new things at a much faster rate has helped me so much in getting what I want in life and become more focused. The feeling of being thoroughly independent and the freedom it brings is also euphoric.
I don't know what else He has in store for me this year but I'm sure it will be good :)

Remember how I said a few posts back that one day that empty corner in my living room would soon house my TV and PS3?

Another thing to cross off my list.
My housemates are honestly very lucky to live with me. My year off from school and working life gives them a home their friends envy. Rest assure that decorative stuff like pictures are going up on the walls next year.

It's a 32 inch. I missed the 40' deal coz I chose thanksgiving dinner over it hurhur.

..can do wonders for the broken soul.
Tonight was short of nothing but horrible.
For some reason, the entire town decided to eat at our restaurant tonight and since boss lady was out of the country visiting her sick mother, leaving only us 3 relatively new workers and on top of that, us having only one cook, it was the perfect recipe for disaster.
We did everything right, we smiled, we apologized, we were faster than the speed of light taking orders, serving people and making boba teas. But one can only go so fast with one cook and hell hath no fury like hungry hordes of customers who are tired of waiting for their food.
Getting yelled at by customers is no joke.
Especially when you did nothing wrong.
Top it up with the odd hours I have to put up with for the pat few weeks since I'm new (like a 3 hour break in between two shifts that I can't do anything with since its too far from home) and the pressure to be the next best worker -totally decided by boss lady after she saw how fast I pick things up- and run the shop asap, and co-workers getting sick or other unexpected events cropping up every night I wanted to attend bible study, making me unable to attend but having to fill their shifts, and the spiritual attacks as of late plus it just had to be today when I got my period and looking forward to coming home to my sister to wail to only to find her gone with a note explaining how her bf got off class early and came to pick her up for the weekend...
I cracked.
Life was tiring and stressful and I was feeling both physically and spiritually exhausted where I wanted nothing but to curl up into a tight ball and drown my sorrows in a tub of ice cream.
Only I didn't have ice cream.
Which made it even sadder.
And that was just what my fb status read.
So as I was busy drowning my sorrows under my comforter and drenching my pillow with tears, guess what happened next?
My friend from my previous church showed up unexpectedly on my doorstep bearing my fav. chocolate chip mint ice cream after having read my status.
And this is where I thank God for his amazingness for blessing me with such awesome friends and for hearing my cries and cheering me up by sending someone to cheer me up with food, comfort and much needed prayers.
I do encourage all my fellow Christians to get connected with either a church or christian fellowship group. Friends are awesome but your fellow sisters and brothers in Christ are precious because sometimes there are certain things only another fellow believer would understand and sometimes what you really need is to be prayed for.
Like tonight.
That visit was everything I needed and more and I thank God for it ♥

My Crib
Saturday, October 1, 2011
So, me and the 2nd sis has long since moved back to Davis the first week of September. We're both currently taking a year off school since things didn't turn out as expected but hey we're doing fine still. Lots of students face the same situation as us too so its cool that we aren't the only ones and we'd definitely be able to resume school next fall.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 is my verse that I live by :)
Anyways, since we already leased the place with 4 other girls, we thought it would be extremely unkind to screw them over by skipping out last minute so after much prayers and considerations, we decided to return to Davis to live and hopefully find a job in the meantime to pay rent and stuff.
Without further ado, our new pad :D

This is the living room. Yes the house is still pretty empty since it has only been a month so rest assure that me and 2nd sis will play interior designers soon as we are so free haha. That spot right there in the far corner will house my TV and PS3 and stereo system whatever once I get the moolah.

My and 2nd sis's couch which we got for $50 used. Super comfy! I do not want to go into details about getting the common area furniture because I will choke blood. If you have been following my twitter, you would know that a certain housemate's boyfriend has been pissing us off lately with his nosy bossiness as if he owned the place.
You no pay rent, you no live here, you shut up. End of story.
Guy wanted us to buy a $119 cheapo quality Ikea sofa bed just so he could sleep over. What pisses me off more was that he lived right round the effing corner (same apartment place!) so wth man, go home and sleep. Long story short, he butt into our house meetings, try to persuade everyone to his whims, and worse of all he is those kind of guys who know nothing about life (thinking sofas cost below $100 hahaha and Ikea is furniture god or something) imo but beer pong and are highly incompetent. Unfortunately, majority of the household knows nothing about the price of furniture either and are kind of in la-la land still so me and 2nd sis had to do days of online research alone and find ways to rent trucks, meet prospective sellers all over the cities and haul everything back ourselves.
Anyways, dude finally got it through his thick skull that we were the 'take no crap' kind of girls and backed off lately. Gotten heaps ton nicer all of a sudden too. The murderous aura and piercing glares we gave every time he opened his mouth prolly helped too XD Oh and our height. Being tall has its perks man.

The other $125 used leather couch which we split 6 ways. Perfect condition ok! For $125!!! You cannot beat that! Sofa bed what? *snorts* Oh and that champagne glass like jar is now filled with colorful Starburst candies :D I wanted to put potpourri but then Safeway had this overstock clearance on candies and inspiration struck~♪
We got the other couch simply coz we knew one isn't enough for all 6 of us but since everyone was being difficult and the other couch was only $50, we thought bah lets just buy it and let others sit so everyone can be happy.
There is another choke blood story behind the innocent looking Ikea coffee table right there but whatever.

Super sturdy used dining set for $60. Yes it's a bargain. In case you have no idea how much furniture costs, let me educate you. A cheapo folding Walmart chair costs about $15 excluding tax. Going rate for used chairs are $25 each minimum. You do the math and tell me if this set was a deal or not.
Little ignorant twerp had the audacity to roll his eyes when he heard it was 2nd hand *dark
I'm sorry. I just get really agitated whenever I'm reminded of his reactions. Does nothing except continuously harping about Ikea and how his family always buy Ikea blalabla as if he was their ambassador. Who the heck buys Ikea except college students seriously? Also, my family has bought low end, mass produced, high end and custom made furniture over the years so if anyone is the expert, its me. Git.

The kitchen! Or should I say, me and Ariel's kitchen coz we are the only ones who actually cook hurhur. I love the fact that everyone is very easy going and nice so we all share kitchen wares unlike other people who I know have like four or six of each item from rice cookers to condiments. Seriously.

Guess which shelf is ours! I have to stop buying food. I think 3/4 of the kitchen is our stuff. Thank goodness no one cooks. I may have never been more grateful for girls who cannot cook than I do now.

Me and 2nd sis's own bathroom! Since we're the only ones living on the first floor, we practically get the entire bathroom to ourselves :D Yes, that two box drawers are our makeup. Very pitiful to you beauty bloggers but everyone else who goes into our bathroom shrieks at the sight and call us effing insane T.T It's part of the reason why I decided to pick the downstairs bedroom. I bet everyone will hate us with our insane amount of beauty products must they share a bathroom with us. There are still cabinets and cupboards filled with other stuff hurhur.

The other reason was coz we cook and bake like all the time so we didn't want to annoy anyone with the endless different smells and noises lols. Though they tell us that they can already smell us cooking from upstairs and sometimes I feel bad for not cooking for them too. But I am not a paid chef so whatever. We do invite them to join us for a meal every now and then anyways.
Tadah! Our bedroom :D

Yes, its a mirror image of each other but those comforters were on discount ok! Plus the Ikea table and lamps too! And we love symmetry so sue us.

Sister's half of the room. And I set up the entire room myself ok *proud* You'd think that me being a daughter, and how everyone always comments on how he is very kindly looking, my daddy would be all 'no worries sweetheart, just run along while I fix up your room' and bust out the toolbox all macho-like like the rest of my housemates' parents but no.
The moment we got back from furniture shopping and he helped lug everything in, he was like 'I paid for everything already so go assemble them, and bed first for I am tired and want to sleep soon byebye' before flopping onto the floor like a dead fish wteff. Oh and presenting me with my very own new set of tools(which I am secretly pleased coz I have been eyeing his since forever) to do the job.
I am like master at assembling that Ikea desk and chair now and even did my housemate's in 30 minutes flat while her guy friend was still busy trying to understand the manual.
Sure we may have grown up more capable but I still think I am being cheated out of my daughterhood hmph.

My half of the room with my lovely Hetalia poster in place ♥ 2nd sis was very vehement about it going up but pffffft idc. I've already compromise all my other posters for this kays. Also, I am sick of living in 'showroom' bedrooms where everything has to appear tasteful blablabla which is what I grew up with all my life where I wasn't allowed to hang anything on the walls unless its prettily framed and of an artful nature =__= I am young and in college. I should have posters of anything everywhere! Hmph.
The huge blank wall above our bed would be designed soon. We're deciding between a huge framed mirror to make the room appear largerand also possibly kill us in our sleep or this one huge custom designed poster/picture cut up into 24 different pieces to give off a modern edge feel.
Also plan to hang pictures of family and friends around the room too. Yes, framed. I cannot win against my sisters and parents T__T No creative photos on pegs like my friend had on her wall :C
Anyways, the best thing about this room?

Since my camera cannot take it in its entirety, I combined 3 separate pictures but its about that size :D Can effing disappear into Narnia ok. We're the only one with it and I think closet space is not included in our by square feet calculations for rent so scooooore!
I really think we got the best deal out of the lot so I am mega happy kays. Oh rent is $682 a month but if me and 2nd sis split it, its about $340 each so its not so bad once we get jobs. I personally think this place is huge and there is like a marketplace right nearby for all our shopping and dining needs so, awesome.
Ok so the bad thing about living downstairs, which I soon come to realize, is that anyone can just break our window netting and steal out stuff T___T So every time we're going out, we have to close the windows and shut the blinds which is annoying and makes the room look dark and the air stale when we get back D:
But whatever. You win some, you lose some.
I didn't take any pics of the upstairs but basically its huge too with 4 other bedrooms, a loft and a huge bathroom area with storage space everywhere. The place is not fully decked out yet but trust me, I will get to decking this entire place out to Martha Stewart worthy and update again with pics.
Gotta love this place ♥

First Year Scholars' Luncheon
Thursday, February 24, 2011
So I made the Deans' Honors list last fall quarter and thus was invited to the luncheon yesterday. Initially, I thought of skipping it because I have a midterm right after the luncheon and planned to use that time to revise instead; thinking that there would be other times when I get on the list again.
But 2nd sis talked me into going anyway and so I did.
And boy am I glad I did. Coz apparently its only held for 1st year students (freshmen or transfer students) who get on the list during their first quarter at UCD. If I had skipped it, I would never get the chance to attend one ever again even if I make the Deans' list again later.
First thing first, my cert! :D

I never thought I would actually get one as I already received an official letter before this and was also thinking 'its just gonna be some simple luncheon' and what not but then the moment I stepped into the hall, I was blown away....

It was beautiful. So very beautifully decorated complete with a band playing in the corner. Would you just look at the table! All that is missing are candles lols.

I was one of the first few to arrive hence the empty tables.

Main course was chicken and some pasta on the side and since our table was somehow less occupied than the rest, it meant more desserts for meeeee :D
The most memorable thing about this event however, was not the beautiful decor or the scrumptious food but the speeches. The speeches by the chancellor, professors and outstanding students who have achieve so much they seem not human. They were full of conviction, of dedication, blazing with passion as they speak of their hopes and dreams which they have achieved and the many more they hope to achieve.
Those speeches re-ignited in me my passion to do my best all over again. That with hard work, dedication and, what my dad always remind me, God's favor, anything is possible.
So thank you Jesus for blessing me so much in my life and here's to the many more successful years to come☺
But 2nd sis talked me into going anyway and so I did.

Recently, the roommate and gamergirl bought me a surprise farewell gift!
I'm taking spring quarter off due to personal reasons so I won't be seeing then till Fall '11 and by then we would have already moved to separate apartments. Ok gamergirl is staying with me yay but the roommate would be dearly missed ;A;
Its a polar bear pillow pet!

Both a pet plush toy and a pillow. All at the flick of a Velcro strap :D
idk about you but I personally think its the cutest thing evarrrr! Both of them have a pillow pet each which I had been eying with envy for the longest time so imagine my happiness when I got one!!!
The first time I saw it, I loudly announced that when I get one, it will so totally be a FLYING SQUIRREL. Cause just imagine how awesome would that be?! A normal squirrel when strapped and a flying squirrel when in pillow form. 2-in-1 ok. And it would be an actual animal instead of looking like a dead animal rug ahahaha you cannot deny that it does! But sadly, SADLY, there is no such thing as a flying squirrel pillow pet. I tried to find the company's email so I can contact them with my brilliant suggestion but there isn't one :C
Anyways, slew (and by slew I mean 3) of webcam picsbecause we all know how webcam makes you look 10 times better than real life of when I was skyping with friends the other day.

I couldn't decide what to name him and so the roommate came up with the name Stewart as she has a penchant for nerdy names for toys (her bear pillow pet is called Hugo) then gamergirl said simply 'Zack'. Well, I LIKED THAT A LOT and you know why :) It does look like a Zack somewhat. So it was named ZackFair then.
But the truth is I wanted to name it Cloud (my obsession with the FF7 hero is insane hurhur) but it was neither blond nor spiky so I abandoned it in favor of Zack but then as I was chatting to the sister, she objected to Zack saying Zack is a puppy (boo!) and so I suggested Rufus since he is all dressed in white but she said Rufus isn't fluffy and then an idea hit me: what if I took the name 'Cloud' literally?

It is white and fluffy like clouds in the sky.
And thus Cloud Fluffs was born whatever :P

Heh, don't you just want a pillow pet now too~ ♪

CNY in the Dorms
Tuesday, February 8, 2011
Spent 2011's CNY in the dorms because the family is in LA and all relatives and friends are in Malaysia. Also, I have classes still... BOO.
So mom brought part of the dinner and CNY goodies up through USPS.
Since the roommate and gamergirl are Chinese, I thought to include them in my tiny Chinese New Year dinner which was 3 days late ahahaha.

Yee Sang ingredients sent by mummy dearest which I just put together and uhm spam musubi and cream corn to live up to the poor college student stereotype XD
Nah, its because we can't cook in the dorms and have to use the community kitchen downstairs which is such a hassle so I'm lazy to bring up an array of cooking utensils and ingredients. I have already sneaked a mini ricecooker in (shhhh don't tell) so its more than enough. BEST purchase in my uni life ever I swear.
I need my rice okay!
Vid of us tossing the Yee Sang:
Apparently no one here knows what Yee Sang is and I am starting to think that maybe its a Malaysian Chinese thing so someone please clarify for me.
Group pic! Guess who is whoooo :D

And yeah yeah we all look horrible except 2nd sis who wore makeup, bah her, but I was too tired to care to slap on makeup after I was done cooking. Yes, that is me on the far right. But you can tell that we are very happy no? :D

Random pic of our vent laden with candies courtesy of some neighbors who I do not know. Apparently, the roommate was chatting on the phone around the apartment block one night, saw a group of girls putting out candies, yelled 'I SEE YOU! CAN I HAVE THOSE CANDIES?!', scared the heck out of them in the process where they could only nod yes dumbly before she proceed to grab handfuls back to our suite and later going back to write thank you on their door.
I guess they found her amusing and came back the next day to sneakily give us more candies lols.
Shall now proceed to throw in random nicer made-up pic of self:

Bangs be gone~ Its sad to know that my church leaders differentiate me and 2nd sis by my bangs and once I pin it up, I become Ariel all over again -___-

Today I received an email from the financial aid office informing me they are giving me an additional $4000.
This is about $1000 per quarter and was the amount left I needed for this quarter's housing. This news came 2 months after the deadline for any financial aid activity. This was also after we were told last month that we have the maximum financial aid available and they're sorry they can't help us.
Last week I have been reading and studying the book of Revelation and in almost all the chapters for that week were passages telling me that God knows my deeds, my sufferings, my needs, my faith in Him and to keep on persevering for He will come through for me in His own time.
Last week was also the time I made the decision and commitment to truly let go of the world and surrender my entire life -past present future- to Him completely. Wherever He leads me to I will go, as long as He promises to be with me always I will not worry nor fear even death because if 'God is for us, who can be against us'? -Romans 8:31
So I stopped worrying and life was indeed happier. Then this news came in today and I cannot help but cry thankful tears because its a tremendous encouragement.
I don't know what the future holds anymore.
But neither do I fear it any longer.
I just have to do my best and leave God the rest for only He knows best ♥

Just because you're White, doesn't mean you're right

Especially when it has to do with asian stuff.
You know what I mean, like in history class you pronounce Mao Ze Dong as 'Mao Tze Doong' and you get some smart alec non-asian go 'NO ITS MAO ZAY DONG' as in ding dong bell dong. And you stare at them all incredulous like internally thinking are you for friggin real before you realize that yes they are for real and thus you reply saying 'uh no, its no--' before getting cut off yet again with them citing that 'the person in the T.V. pronounced it that way so I'm right' and wonders of wonders the narrator is.... caucasian -__-
EXCUSE ME. Hello?! Asian here? Not to mention I'm chinese again so I think *I* would know how to rightly pronounce a fellow chinese's name.
wth is this where I'm being doubted on something to do with my culture. I sure as heck don't go no its not pronounced as coffee its kah-fei/ko-hi okay what is wrong with you pronouncing even the simplest of words wrong?! to you do I?
Anyways, you get the gist of it.
So the other night I went out for dinner with my suitemates and midway through our conversation, the topic switched to rice and sorority girl went 'I put ketchup on my rice' to which all 3 of us asians started grimacing internally before drama queen piped up that she eats her rice with butter and WHAT why are we staring at her like that and don't you guys do it too???
Uh no. No we don't. We eat our rice with meat and veggies. Even better when there is sauce from either the meat or veggie and we stir it up with our rice total yums okay. Butter and ketchup on steamed rice wth that is like the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of but to each their own and I was fine with that until....
"Eww you guys do that???"
(When gamer girl told her about the mixing rice with sauce and meat/veggies thing) before proceeding to give us the most disgusted hell-no-you-don't-do-that-with-rice look and trying to get us to agree with her that rice should be eaten with butter cuz apparently all her friends does that too so therefore its the right/better method.
Not gonna lie. I amvery slightly irritated by now.
RICE IS OUR STAPLE FOOD SO I THINK OUR SAY IN HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE EATEN TRUMPS YOURS ANY DAY ROAR!
Do you know how ridiculous you sound arguing about that with me. No? Well its like me saying "I eat mashed potatoes with soy sauce. WHAT YOU MEAN YOU EAT YOURS WITH GRAVY? GROSS." or "Everyone knows that spaghetti should be eaten with fish sauce and shiitake mushrooms" -rolls eyes-
Honestly, what is it with most of them thinking that their ways of doing everything is right and totally not weird even when that something is not their culture to begin with and instead slamming us for doing something that we've been doing for like idk, five thousand years so I think if anyone is out of the norm, its you.

And I'm not talking about butter prawns with rice okay.

Tiny Glimpse into UCD
Saturday, October 2, 2010
So, the reason for my hiatus was coz I was busy moving and adjusting into college life. Some of you would know that I had since graduated from Pasadena City College spring '10 and has chosen UC Davis as the university I wanted to transfer to.
One thing I am sick of being constantly asked whenever I said I'm from LA was 'WHY come here?!' with such bewilderment I want to slam my head on the nearest wall. To explain things, Davis is a small town up in NorCal. And by small I mean really really small (well, compared to LA). And everyone thinks it has nothing but cows and you must be not as smart if you chose Davis (I have a 3.9 GPA mmkay). So if I hear another person in SoCal badmouth UCD again I will throw a cow at them. Or a hamburger because cows are too heavy :\
I could have chosen to go to a UC in SoCal but I didn't and it wasn't because I didn't get accepted but I have seen a few UCs in SoCal and its just not what I had always imagine universities to be: Large sprawling lawns, quiet tucked away town but within an hour away from major cities, nature everywhere and pretty much just secluded from the hectic world.
Which is what all the UCs in NorCal is ♥
I chose Davis because I didn't get accepted into Berkeley and I am actually relieved deep down because when I saw Davis I really wanted to come here but was worried if I got accepted into Berkeley just how am I going to turn it down because people would think me insane. I still have no idea why I didn't get accepted cuz I was told I had a 94% chance but I AM HAPPY :D I don't exactly think I can survive there :\
Anyways! Dorm life!
I live in an apartment style dorm with 4 other suitemates and this is my corner of the room:
Very plain as you can see cuz we drove from 8 hours from LA okay and its both me and my sis (freshman) coming up here so we can only fit the barest essentials into the minivan which already took us an hour trying to get everything to fit.
View of the whole room:
That is my roommate's (also Chinese) bed. I arrived a day earlier so they have yet to checked in. We have huge closets and yes that is my broken closet door which I have since fixed oh why am I so handy *proud
I was happy until I peeked into my suitemate's (both White) room:
WHAT IS ALL THIS BIG SPACE AND A PRIVATE BATHROOM AGAIN?! AND THEY ARE PAYING THE SAME PRICE AS ME?????? PREPOSTEROUS!!!
4th sis upon seeing it: "..... racist."
HAHAHAHA.
Look! They have a bathtub okay and we only have a measly shower stall :C
BUT!!! We have a huge mirror/sink space :D Although we have to share it amongst the 3 of us (another suitemate got a single room and yes she is Chinese too) but whatever. The large mirror cheers me up ^^
My cute sister left me a message before she left:
Awww!!!
Before this was daddy's scrawl of "Room B > Room A?! UNFAIR" on it lols.

Our living room which we never stay in cuz we are to cheap to buy lamps and so its in a perpetual dark gloomy state 24/7.
Anyways, so there is me, the roommate, gamer girl, drama queen and sorority girl and this would be their respective names on the blog. ha.
Some pics of some activities around campus:
Open air movie night which I skipped because I didn't have the foresight to bring my sweater and it was freezing and my dorm was 30 minutes away so I left :C
Random pic of the map room in the library:
I am so in love with the libraries in the US. You can find just about anything you want ♥

The infamous cows! You can only smell them if you're in Tercero haha must suck to be dormed there.
Koinonia's game night. Koinonia is one of the many Christian fellowship groups in UCD. I was amazed by just how many active Christian groups there here. I always assumed that there wouldn't be many cuz you know how liberal the North is but I personally think its more fired up here than in LA. Their faith is something to be admired. Diligently handing out flyers at every corner with a smile and the numerous events they hold and just the genuine love they have for each other.... its amazing.
The whole time I was with them, I felt at ease. Superficiality ceased to exist and everyone is just so sincere you feel you can trust them with anything. Completely different to what I was exposed to in LA.
Which is why I still stand by my words that Davis is an awesome school :3
I found a church too: Gracepoint. It isn't exactly a church church and by that I mean they don't have a church building and borrows the local middle school drama hall but its a church in every essence. They have passionate pastors and staff members and they actually have the resources to offer free dinner and lunch every bible study and church service to over 150 university students.
imo, every church should serve food of some sort. Yes, spiritual food is of course more important but that doesn't discount the fact that we are human beings and we need physical food too and everyone knows that food brings people together. Notice how churches with food related events have closer church members and are less hypocritical?
Anyways, last pic:
Last Sunday, our uni held this worship night where all the Christian groups came together for a night of praise and worship. The entire lecture hall was packed tighter than a can of sardines. So many fellow Christians I am not alone :'3
I still have some other random pics in 2nd sis phone which I will collect and post later. Also, all the UCD building pics are uhm with my dad in LA so uhm I will have to ask him to send it to me later.
Promise to blog more diligently from now onwards too~

It's All In The Head
Tuesday, May 18, 2010
Which left me feeling extremely mortified now because the last few times I'd spoken with her I was erm a bit on the snappy side as I didn't really like her the first time I met her as she seemed to be on the haughty impatient smartass side and I have zero tolerance for anyone who think they are always right and distrust your answers and turn to the other side for a second opinion when they asked you first like wth okay if you're not gonna believe me then don't friggin ask me in the first place cuz its like a slap to my face telling me you think I'm stupid and am probably wrong. Which I seldom am cuz yes I am the one who got the top scores in class thankyouverymuch.
I have no idea how to face her anymore okay. Its one thing to be bitchy to someone of equal age or younger but more than 10 years difference (older) is just unthinkable. Inner asian me just won't allow me to do so. I might have to bake her cookies to make up for it D:
Moving on, I'd just finished watching Pyscho! The 1960 original and not the remake okay because I'm taking a theater arts class (yes, again) and I need to choose a film from AFI Top 100 for my term paper. I totally love this class as all we do is watch old classics and let me tell you that the Hollywood now has nothing on the Hollywood then. Everything seem crappy in comparison to all those old movies and my personal mission this summer is to complete the entire AFI 100 list since I'm already 1/3 through it after my two classes :D
I totally feel more elite than the rest of you already *hidung tinggi wth
Also, actors from the olden days are mad hot! Like for reals! The only actor I actually found hot in Hollywood now is Jude Law and only as Watson because I am pretty sure I heard of him before then but wasn't the least bit interested so I am apparently only attracted to his one look wteff. Anyway a picture of Anthony Perkins who played Norman Bates:
Very cute no?! He's like this soft slightly awkward very nice guy in the film and if it were me in it I would totally concoct a million devious plans to snag a date with him or die trying. Literally. Since he is apparently freaking psycho words cannot describe and his creepy smile in the final scene is still firmly embedded in my brain to haunt me for nights to come. I also now name Hitchcock my favorite director of all times because I watched another film of his and loved it too. Mystery anything or suspense is my guilty pleasure ♥

Farewell, my Innocence...
Friday, September 18, 2009
Remember my controversial Physical Science class?
So our assignment for the week is to complete a Powerpoint quiz designed to point out our prejudices. Whatever it was, I certainly was NOT expecting questions like these:

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Really.
Honestly, I had never given much thought to such things, if at all, and so to be suddenly assaulted with questions like penis sizes.... wth I don't even want to go there ok! alkdjfasdas I want my pure innocent world back dammit :C

Back to School

This just friggin blows I tell you.
You know you're in the bloody wrong class where the F-word is not banned but encouraged as long as you don't become what the prof calls a Phuck Chicken lol like chickens going phuck phuck phuck phuck phuckaaa and whatnot XD I know Ammy would simple adore this class if she was here.
I took the class because my counselor told me everyone said this class was interesting. Too bad I didn't know that interesting=controversial here. As much as I tend to disagree with a lot of people on a number of things, I don't like to be involve in the middle of it. I prefer just sticking to my opinions quietly and just doing as I please and all you opposition can just suck on it. I don't really care much for winning pointless arguments cuz arguing takes time and I am lazy. The assignments are like super damn long too :C
But stupid me didn't have the foresight to pick a backup class so I have no choice but to stick it out which I shall. And get an A while I'm on it *channels inner bitchiness*
Oh btw, my class had two, TWO!, sets of identical MALE twins!!! Granted they are nothing like the Hitachiins although one set is actually quite hot but I am quite prejudiced in my own right (confirm will have this prejudice beaten out of me in class later) and cannot look past certain cultures so the enthusiasm is not that high lol. Anyway, the point was cuz recently I am extremely fascinated with the idea of identical twins cuz hello just imagine the possibilities! If you cheat on one with the other (although I have no idea why since they both have the same features anyway) and accidentally got pregnant you could still pass off the child as the other twin's :D Or! If two sets of identical twins got married to each other, you could accidentally switch their children (before they see them of course) and no one would know.
Ok enough talks on twins because its bringing out all the bad in me :x
WHY IS MY G-DRAGON ALBUM NOT HERE YET?! Such utter fail YesAsia hmph. My NYX haul just came in the other day and I will do swatches of them soon-ish. Next on my list would be gray circle lenses and Eyeko tinted cream :D Oh btw I dyed my hair the other day again but the color just wouldn't friggin show unless its under direct sunlight then I look like a shining chocolate head and so I'm finally giving up on home dyes and shall just splurge on a professional job the next time.
Japanese class is tomorrow and I have handily forgotten all I had learned over the summer so byebye I shall go cram now.
PS: It feels nice to just write random crap down here like a normal journal again :)

Yada Yada Yada

So there is this one girl who is my friend, well somewhat, and she's smart, pretty and nice (sometimes. but very rare. like hailstorms. in Hawaii) but just drives me up the wall with all her complaints. Like wteff is there ANYTHING she likes AT ALL? I mean like really, she'll ask you all about your weekend or your upcoming plans and then when you say 'oh I went to a beach party, golfing, a ball game, clubbing etc' she would find SOMETHING to bitch about. 'Omg I hate beach parties, I organized it once and some people are so stupid and buy the wrong food or clubbing suck, I don't drink but I like dancing but ugh the prices they charge! Sucks. Golfing sucks too. Its sooo boriiing blablabla' WTEFF RUDE MUCH?
Although I agree with her that golfing pretty much suck and is probably the most boring game on earth.
But that is not the point.
I think its damn discourteous to shoot down every single thing people bring up and all the more if you invited them to share in the first place like wteff like right in the middle of people's conversation and she'll just go 'oh I hate that!' and the person would just start trailing off quietly because like wteff how is he gonna continue on talking about something he apparently likes cuz if he didn't it sure as hell won't be in his plans right? Initially, I thought it was only a one or two time thing but eventually it was clear that she has something bad to say for anything you bring up.
EVERY. SINGLE. THING.
Ugh I swear. Everything that comes out her mouth is always so bloody negative unless its her hobbies. And even then it would include stories of incompetent people who somehow managed to ruin her day of fun for her.
THE WORLD DOESN'T BLOODY REVOLVE AROUND YOU OKAY?!
So we went for sushi at this fav. Japanese restaurant of hers to celebrate the end of summer classes and there is this waitress she dislikes for no apparent reason except that she was rude to her once, according to her at least, and ever since then she has never tipped her wteff. All these right before she started complaining about her previous job as a waitress where she wished customers would stfu and let her do her thing like hello shouldn't you understand the feelings of that rude waitress then?
Who btw, was anything but rude and all sunshiny smiles instead. Friggin figures.
If I were her, I'll spike her sushi I swear.
With the chef's sweat or something equally as gross.
Because she totally deserves it for that prissy attitude of hers. I believe the right way to react after borrowing someone's phone is to say 'thank you' instead of 'Jesse McCartney... *stares at music player* don't like him. His songs suck *flips hair*'.
*&^*%&^$#@#$!$%!^$^&%*&%&^%##$! YOU OK!!!!
Listening to his music also kena wteff its like she's on eternal pms.
WHY THE HECK ARE WE STILL TALKING TO HER I HAVE NO IDEA.
But she is a very good excuse to heap all the bad things on like not tipping and thus saving us 5 bucks each this afternoon and if people ask, we'll just point to her and sigh and wring our hands as if it explains everything.
And people will automatically understand and nod sympathetically.
And just like that, 5 bucks saved! With our dignity/conscience still intact. Somewhat. And in this current economy, every dollar counts. So come to think about it, 5 bucks saved is 5 bucks saved so yeah...
...please to bitch all you want girl ^3^

Pretentiousass was absent today! :D However, Sulkyboy decided to eat lunch in our air-conditioned class and totally ruined whatever good mood I had earlier. Steamed broccoli and beef wteff, one can only imagined the smell....
And no, it did not smelled delicious.
Was totally pissed off too later again when some pervert in my college tried to stare down my neckline as I walked past him to the parking lot *fumes* He was on the phone the whole time and when I walked past he totally leaned his head over to my side WTEFF before I realized what he was doing and brandished my thick till can die Japanese textbook at his head menacingly. Still very very angry about the whole incident.
Anyways, went for a haircut this afternoon at the hair salon a block down my place cuz even if she isn't an expert in Japanese hairstyles and could never get the thinning out part right, she is the cheapest and when you are a poor college student like me, every penny counts ok.

Regretted asking her to cut my bangs shorter because it looked hella chio a minute ago before I opened my mouth to ruined everything :C Cuz I didn't like how it kept getting in my eye but given a choice between chioness or practicality, I'll take the former okay *shallow*

My dyed hair which hardly makes a difference unless I'm directly under the sun T__T And yes, I can see very well for myself that my face is like effing round already ok T____T
Spent half the afternoon aimlessly surfing the net and came across this picture:

HAHAHA THE JOY OF SUCKING ON BALLS INDEED HAHAHAHAHA YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME HAHAHAHA WAS THE PERSON WHO WROTE THIS ON CRACK AH HAHAHA *dies*
Gonna see the dermatologist tomorrow to fix my face once and for all so I will achieve baby smooth skin *determined like anything* Will probably suffer severe breakouts for 6 months before it all clears up like its supposed to haih am wondering how I can get away with being a hikikomori for that long....
Mummy's birthday is tomorrow too and I am gonna bake her those Japanese sponge cake with cream and strawberries like you always see in dramas so cross your fingers and hope that I'll get it right ♥

Productivity what?
Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Bought a box of L'Oréal copper brown hair dye the other day and proceeded to make a mess in the bathroom which is now covered with brown spots :C Am not very pleased with the results cuz my hair is barely even brown unless I stand in the sun then it becomes this very lovely shade of red/brown but hello I do not want to walk in the sun everyday ok later become bla-- I mean dark.
Must watch my English ah wteff cuz the other day right, I was attending this function where there were a sizable number of African-Americans and as daddy was busy snapping pics of me and 4th sis who looks like snow white, he commented how she looks super fair besides me and in annoyance I shoved her away, saying how she makes me look so black and as soon as the words were out my mouth I knew I was in deep shit as I sputter 'uhm I mean dark. Dark.' but it was too late cuz then everyone has already turned to glare at me ah wteff and I wished the ground would swallow me up T___T
See la, this is what Manglish does to you T____T
Anyways, going for a haircut tomorrow so pics then I guess. On to other things, I am sick of studying Japanese ok and the only reason I'm persevering here is because I want to play Final Fantasy: Crisis Core in Japanese because the seiyuus are better *__* One more year to go before I'm done with it....
I also hope Pretentiousass and Lardface won't be in my class next semester or I will stab something I swear. Pretentiousass is this otaku who shoots down everything American and is a constant show off that is forever sprouting his anime vocabulary (hahaha anime) and if I hear his snotty voice one more time I would....BONK HIM ON THE HEAD WITH MY 2 BRICKS THICK TEXTBOOK.
I wish.
He sits besides me ok and there isn't a day that passes that I don't wish strangling was legal.
Lardface is....like her nickname and should just marry Pretentiousass so they can drown in their own delusions. She is rude, thinks her cold jokes are funny and has this annoying squeaky voice that goes 'lalala just kidding' when she says something wrong or stupid. Mostly just stupid. I EFFING HATE HER OK AND HEARING HER VOICE JUST MAKES ME CRINGE SO MUCH TILL ONE DAY I WOULD BECOME A SNG BOI I SWEAR.
She sits behind me.
WHY AM I SO SOI ONE?
So I browsing around in DA today and aldkaldjasd HOW CUTE ARE THESE REALLY?
OMG BABY CLOUD! WANT!
ALSDKJASDAS RENO AND CLOUD IN CUTE CHIBI FORM. It cannot get any better than this ♥
Oh wait, it does!
Reno stuffing a very pissed off Cloud into a cloud costume and hanging him against a sky backdrop HAHAHA why so cute XD I absolutely love Cloud's expression here lol. I swear a pissed off chibi Cloud is like the cutest thing ever okay ♥♥♥
What? Me, bias? No way.
4 Ways Reno can Die in FF7:
AHAHAHAHA DAMN FUNNY OK. Sephiroth XD
Ok one last one because its SQUISHY CLOUD ok whats not to love?
And if you thought that was effing cute already, just wait till you see the flash version here.
I'd just wasted the last hour of my life clicking on the red button just to hear him go 'pyoooon'.
Obviously I am still very much obsessed with anything FF7. Ho hum.

Guess what dolt? I can speak 4 languages. 5 if you include dialects
Friday, April 17, 2009
So bitching about me in your native language which you assume I don't understand is not a smart move.
So there was this group of girls who were taking effing forever to order their food and were like still debating amongst themselves on what to order plus since they weren't in line but instead clustered in a corner I decided to go right ahead and place my order first since my class starts in like 15 minutes and then this one girl went and tap me on the shoulder telling me they came here first and of course the only thing I can do is smile and apologize cuz what else can I do? Ask the man to put my bowl of rice back? And so they started bitching about me in Indonesian, thinking I don't stand a chance of ever knowing their language.
HA GUESS WHO WAS RAISED IN MALAYSIA WHERE THE NATIONAL LANGUAGE SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO INDONESIAN???
So I was all 'wth do you want again thenbitch? My food? For me to put my food back and wait after you order and get yours till I can get mine again?' in BM before flouncing off coolly to the cash register with my food. Bet they didn't expect that.
IT'S LIKE EFFING FAST FOOD OK AND TAKES LESS THAN 30 SECONDS TO PREPARE WTH CAN'T YOU EVEN WAIT. IT'S NOT LIKE I CUT ANY LINE AGAIN AND TO BE MORE ACCURATE I WAS THE STARTING LINE WTH.
The advantages of living in Malaysia before. Ha. I can bitch about you without you understanding but you can't kuakuakua. I vow to learn Korean and Spanish as soon as I transfer to a UC next year since almost everyone keep speaking to me in Korean its frustrating not being able to answer back or having to embarrass them by telling them I'm not so if I can speak it, then I can just pass as one occasionally to save time and explanations. Spanish is just so I caneavesdrop on people's conversations expand my linguistic skills :)
Anyway, enough of languages. LOOK WHAT 2ND SIS BOUGHT ME IN WASHINGTON DC:

I've been dying to own a sweatshirt like since forever, ok since I came back here, but those in malls are either hideous or way too expensive. And I would be transferring soon so buying my college sweatshirt is kinda pointless. Plus I find wearing other universities sweatshirts like what everyone does is kinda silly cuz what if you don't manage to get into that school? Damn embarrassing ok. imo anyway *shrugs*
Oh and I bought myself Legere Multi White BB Cream off ebay and I think its pretty amazing. My face is like an effing porcelain mask now. Coverage is pretty good although I think cream foundation would still do a better job but I am lazy and so BB cream is damn awesome cuz its every face makeup rolled into 1 :D But I still stand by Eye Talk eye-glue as my best purchase ever. Life-changing I swear. Also one big fat lie to the world since my eyes are slits without it but I shall ignore that part.

2nd sis cute cap which I stole. omg its so cute I love it love it love it but stewpid 2nd sis thought we hate caps and didn't buy any for us T_________T

GD ♥♥♥♥ So effing cute. I want to make endless lollipop gifs of him. The part where the lollipop word appeared between his fingers and where he twirled his index fingers at the side of his head to the words 'you just can't control' and the pa-- actually I just want to make gifs of all the single scenes of him where he wore blue. I think I can re-watch those parts a bazillion times. Also re-watched the ice-cream 2 CF on youtube and ZOMG HE IS SO CUTE OKAY.
Oh yeah SPRING BREAK IS FINALLY HERE!!!! :DDDDD Am going to Universal Studios (again) and a bunch of places with So Eun before she returns to Korea. HA CAN SLEEP IN TILL 11 TOO ♥
