22nd Birthday

Sunday, December 18, 2011
Celebrated my 22nd birthday at home with 2nd sis. And by home, I meant my home in Davis which I currently share with 4 other girls who are gone at the moment due to winter break. We left way later coz we had work. Such is the life of a non-student. Anyways, 2nd sis decided to cook something nice for my birthday :D

Bought pre-made stuffed clams for myself as a treat. The kind of treats I always stare at through the cold storage doors in supermarkets, like corn dogs or pizzas or cocktail shrimps or fancy desserts, but never buy because its too expensive imo and swore that one day when I am rich I would buy those but alas when I do have the money, I still think its bloody not worth it and instead spend it on fancy gadgets which I think is worth more :\

I think this is partly due to I can cook, whereas I cannot make gadgets.

Plus I get to eat those food at parties and they never taste like what their mouth-watering packaging advertise -__-

Everything besides the clam and buns are made by 2nd sis ♥ Fragrant rice, awesome salmon, and salad with all the good stuff :d

Happiness ♥ Words cannot describe how blessed I am to have a sister going to the same uni as me and living together. We thought it was going to be a nightmare since heavens know we don't really get along being in the same bedroom at home but away from home, its different. It's like a bestest best friend only 100000 times better. Because she's your sister who you can trust more than anyone in the world aside from your parents. Family... is truly a treasure.

I Passed My JLPT 3

Wednesday, May 12, 2010
So yeah, like the title said, I PASSED :D

Ok so I'd gotten the results around February but only got around to scanning it now cuz I promised myself that I must get it up here no matter what because this is the result of studying Japanese for the entire past year ok!

Which I have totally forgotten since then wteff.

Ok I still remember enough to converse with customers should the need arise like the other day but thats about it. And maybe enough to read those food labels in stores but what is the point when they all have English translations right below it :C

This test was the bane of my existence for the entire fall/winter as I read, write, watch, eat, breathe Japanese till I was about to go insane and have a mental breakdown because I spent almost a $100 for this test alone so if I flunk it that would be $100 for nothing but pure torture and could have well been used to buy those fancy sushi boat feasts in Japanese restaurants in the first place no?!

Also, passing does not mean I am in any way 1/3 fluent in Japanese at all because in all honesty, I suspect that it was my Chinese that saved me. Making my guesses to be extremely educated guesses ha! I never took Level 4 because my professor said it would be way too easy for me and encouraged me to take Level 3 instead which was a mistake imo. My level is more like 3.5 if you ask me.

Anyway its over, thank you kami-sama and never will I torture myself in such ways again *shudders

Lucky Streak

Tuesday, April 20, 2010
Many say that nothing in this world comes free.

However, sometimes it does. Many would also call it luck. I however call it a blessing :)

All my life, I have never won a single lucky draw. And trust me, I have been to tons of events where lucky draws are constantly held. My parents were like practically involved in a bunch of things in society where there are tons of such events. Then again, I had pretty much everything I could ever want then but still HOW I WISHED THAT JUST ONCE SOMETHING IN LIFE WOULD BE FREE.

Last year, I stumbled onto Jen's blog and halfway through the year she held a giveaway where I entered thinking I would never win but oh well, couldn't hurt if I didn't plus I really really reeeeally wanted those makeup brushes which I was now no longer able to afford them after the whole life transition thing and crazy college fees etc.

Don't laugh but I did prayed about it too ok. Something along the lines of please God I would love those makeup brushes oh would you grant me my wish? *shy

Anyway, I don't care if you laugh also hor cuz I DID WIN IT in the end and was super ecstatic when I receive an email from her telling me I won, and not the 3rd or 2nd prize either mind you but the FIRST :DDDD

And thus began my downhill spiral into the world of expensive cosmetics and superficial beauty WTEFF.

Ok no lah, I don't splurge like mad but yes my makeup collection is slowly growing now ah is this a good thing or not! Anyway, those are my first set of brushes ever *wet eyes* so thank you Jen!!! Also pretty much my main brushes still cuz like I said, I am a poor college student hor cannot simply buy a gazillion brushes plus my gaming addiction pretty much eats up a chunk of my money too :C

Next!

One day, every twitter and blog were suddenly gushing about Clarisonic and how awesome it is but oh so crazy expensive but ooooh how the results are to die for.

Needless to say, I ALSO WANT!!!

And while I was googling Clarisonic to read up more on its features and benefits, right on Google page's second link were the words 'Clarisonic Giveaway' and I'm like aldlsdjflasjdfas must enter and GUESS WHAT I WON IT TOO! Not one either but two ok TWO! I think there were like 1000 comments again and random generator picked my number (94) *super thankful

I had a pick of my choice and I chose the Clarisonic Classic in baby pink and white which is like at least $300 worth altogether. Wanted to give the white to mummy but she was like 'I won't spend money to replace the brush every 3 months' wteff so ngiau and so I gave it to 2nd sis instead who was tripping over herself trying to get me to give it to her.

A christmas gift from God ok cuz it arrived sometime around that week :D

I'll say the Clarisonic is as good as the reviews claim it to be. My skin always feel super soft after like a waxed floor where all the lotion I put on later just fully absorbs into it. Skin condition also significantly improved after a few months. Pores actually shrunk ok! Highly recommended ♥

So around that time too I was looking for purple eyeshadows for a smokey look since ahem Jen recommended purple for darker skin tones plus Hyori looked awesome in purple :P

Since I was already following a blog that later held a giveaway for smokey eyeshadows of your choice, I entered and didn't think much of it till I was notified a month later that I won and I was pretty much like huh what in the world did I enter? XD

I barely use this though cuz it doesn't really show up well on me (maybe I need to try it one more time) and I'm currently utterly addicted to my Urban Decay eyeshadow palette. I totally recommend UD ok! Best eye makeup ever imo ✌

A month later I wanted a flat iron :3 Yealah see told you I was spiraling downwards into an obsession of beauty XD I bought a pink flat iron on sale at Target, quite forgetting that I had joined another flat iron giveaway (only four people joined lol since it was for US residents only and her blog was mainly targeted at Australians and those in SEA) and well, won. So the pink flat iron goes to my younger sisters now and I'm now using this $113 flat iron instead :)

Christmas is a season of giving hence the many giveaways on blogs I actually follow. I don't join every blog just to win stuff ok don't be silly. Imagine the amount of spam if I did that, the horror. I only follow a select few (five I think) which I find very useful.

Like Musings of a Muse which is omg useful when it comes to knowing the latest product out there and even more useful after I got a job at a certain beauty store and need to have a certain amount of knowledge of its products so ahahahaha her blog is now my study guide XD So she had this 12 days of giveaways going on and I won one of them X3 I LOVE THE NAIL POLISH VERY VA VA VROOM LOLS. Also the gloss is perfect for toning down some of my slightly unwearable lipsticks (wrong shades lol the perils of online shopping) and SMELL LIKE EFFING COTTON CANDY SO DELICIOUS :d Have yet to try out the sparkly glitter mascara and eyeshadow cuz I'm not a party girl so there isn't an occasion where I could use it yet.

Lastly, Lisa of He Qi Crystal Designs held a mini giveaway a few weeks back asking us to tell her what we thought of Spring and I guess she liked my answer? :3

I love the simplicity of this earrings, its so versatile I can wear it everywhere with nearly anything. Lisa is one of my favorite jewelry makers and I've blogged about the earrings I've bought from her before here :D Mad happy that my sister is going to UC Davis this fall so I can ask Lisa to pass all the earrings I want to buy to her so I needn't pay for shipping fees muahahaha but omg I hate paying for shipping fees ok!

I've also won three other giveaways in December, one which was a lotion (lol) from Temptalia, another some lip potion thingy from MPPB and a $50 McCormick and Schmick's giftcard which I was so looking forward to using it to bring my parents out on a dinner date with me but alas, it got lost in the mail :C The UPS delivery showed that it was delivered so I'm guessing someone in my apartment building must have stolen it T_______T

Anyway, I'm truly thankful for the things I'd won so far. It was indeed a lovely surprise then :) I've kind of stopped joining giveaways now since I think I've won enough plus God has already given me a job allowing me to buy stuff I need or just want so if I do so now occasionally, its mainly just to show some support towards my favorite bloggers ♥

But yeah, some of the nicest things in the world are indeed, free ;)

I Have Nice Cousins ♥

Monday, December 29, 2008

Look what arrived in the mail today!

Cute Christmas card with shiny DBSK goodies from my dearest cousins ♥ I feel oh so warm and crappy now. Warm because you actually took the time to mail me a card (trust me, I was like absolutely delirious with excitement to see my name on an envelope which isn't some shopping bill or bank statement reminding me how much little I'm left with thanks to my zealous spending) and crappy because I am now officially the world's lousiest cousin ever.

Cuz I just got wind that you've been emailing my mom instead of me the whole time and I'm trying to figure out just where did I go wrong lol. I know both of you stalk my blog so gimme your birthdays now so I can mail gifts back =D

Don't worry, I won't give you guys NEWS goodies haha but do give me an idea on what you guys like or not I just might send you both a Yamapi and uhm I forgot who you like (Tegoshi? Massu? Yamapi too?) poster respectively out of impish glee =P

Thank you so much and I miss and love you both oh so much too and srsly, COME HERE DURING THE YEAR-END HOLIDAYS OKAY? By then I'll have my driver license and we can wreck havoc all over SoCal =D

Oi! I have GPS okay so you can stop shrieking now. oh c'mon I wasn't that bad a driver wtb...*grumbles*

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes I'm working on the Universal Studios pictures now so it'll probably be up by tomorrow. And honestly, blogging isn't so fun anymore now that daddy is religiously stalking both 2nd sis blog and mine (it used to be once in a blue moon or so he says) and I know this cuz an hour ago he went all 'I LOVE MASSU!' whilst looking pointedly at us (I nearly dropped the plate I was scrubbing wtb) before going all 'I've been calling you both for the past minute to no response and as soon as I say Massu I have both of you guys rapt attention srsly hmph you two ar blablabla' wtb. And earlier on he was busy discussing my blog contents........
WTB OKAY. Byebye freedom of speech and fangirly posts on how I want to ra-- do indecent stu-- kidna-- meet *insert idol name of choice*
I am decidedly sadfacey atm =C
Godiva
Saturday, December 27, 2008
So Ammy, in response to your question the other day if I'd ever eaten Godiva chocolates before:
Well, now I have thanks to Soeun who gave me box of it during Christmas. As for the taste, it tastes pretty much like well, chocolates. The only special thing I find about it is the gorgeous box which comes in handy at keeping my jewelries atm =D
I'm not really a big fan of sweet things though so don't take my word for it. But chocolates has never really tickle my fancy much =x Though I do appreciate people who give me chocolates cuz to them chocolates is the world or something so the thought behind it is much appreciated =)
Yeah, Christmas dinner for this year excluding a few more pies not in pic. A far cry from the lavish affair we used to have every year back in Kuching with relatives and friends where I always try to hide myself after dinner to avoid washing the scary mountainous pile of dishes (but to no avail). Then again, my living quarters has since shrunk to the size where my car porch back home is probably bigger than my entire apartment combined so inviting many guests like before is out of the question. And its times like that I miss Kuching dreadfully. If only somebody can pack up my house and ship it here, I'll be happy as a lark.
Anyway, daddy just bought some annual passes to Universal Studios so we're gonna play ourselves silly starting from tomorrow onwards =) And its times like this that I'm happy to be here after all =D
Picnic
Thursday, September 4, 2008
I ♥ History class!!! Am so glad I took that instead of Humanity ok though I still feel like taking it next sem. but omg the teacher for History of Japan/China/Korea is super nice and cheerful I just know she would be good =DDD She can speak Mandarin again cuz she needed it to be eligible to work for the CIA and stuff. Anyway, I like her =)
Economics on the other hand is hell because daddy failed to tell me in time to never take Asian teachers classes and now I am faced with, to my horror, 4 bloody exams, 4 quizzes, 8 papers, and endless posts to be made onto an online forum. Initially I was smirking inwardly when I first saw him cuz he looked all sissy and soft spoken and so I thought that this class would be easy till I saw the syllabus. CAN SRSLY CRY OK T_____T
Other classes are so-so only so thats about it I guess. Have a hard time understanding the maths and econ lecturers though cuz their Indian and Korean accent are quite heavy it takes me 5 mins and 10 sentences later to get what they are talking about -_-
Anyway, pictures from last Sunday's picnic where we were invited by friends from another church.
Did not eat any food except the rice and curry we brought because I cannot stand the sight of burgers and hotdogs or even pizzas anymore. The thought of it makes me queasy. Every party or events I go to I am served with these 3 same things oh help me. Dislike ham sandwiches now too and to think I loved it so much last time. But I have to eat it every other day for lunch ok so not kimochi T3T
RICE FTW!!!! =PPPP Oh no the pic above has nothing to do with the previous sentence.
Cheese sticks or I think it was string cheese? You don't bite it off. You peel it and it'll break into little stringy pieces hence the name. The middle one is totally disgusting though. Dunno why people like to make horrid tasting food. Its a crime I say!
Totally irrelevant pic since this was taken during the 'make your own sundae' event weeks ago but never mind shall just slot it here. Oh shaddap I know its ugly lar wth I greedy mah want to put every single available topping how???
GREAT HAIR DAY OK SHALL CAMWHORE KAOKAO. I realized that if I just push my hair up as shown in pic I look a heck lot different. Ok maybe not sooo different but different. Am so buying pins and combs later this week ha ♪
I absolutely love the messy background cuz it looks so artsy fartsy~☀
Smile's kinda weird but never mind, I love my hair hair hair.... I think this was later in the day though cuz my curls kinda flat here =C
Insert random pic of volleyball court. Turned down the offer to play cuz the memory of being brutally hit by the ball endlessly last beach party still lingers.
✿Sisters✿
Pretending to look away and succeeding at it ✧
My pretty french-tips ♥♥♥ Real nails ok took me effing forever to file and paint them.
Eeee I notice I have double eyelids here wei!!!!
I kinda love lazing around in the sun more and more provided there is shade. Its so peaceful I would have stayed hours there lying on the sweet green grass had not daddy had to rush home. Bah.
I love my hair here ok so perfect. Am happy. Good hair days makes me happy =)
Oh by the way, bought some crystals I have been eying for a while and now my few gadgets are all blinged out.
Stick on crystals cuz I can't be bothered to glue them on. Super expensive too. Like 9 bucks for 300 pieces. Can't find cheaper ones =C
Wanted to do a flower design for my lappie but doubt I have enough so I didn't. I know what you people are thinking lar wth, as if the thing is pink already not enough now still have to make it sparkle and shine then happy. I think my classmates find me very amusing lar and always turn to me whenever I rummage in my bag for something trying to see what more pink things I have wth.
Oh well, that just means that I have to continue getting A's no?
Shall study hard this semester like always. Wish me well ^^
Haha I can drive now, with my daddy beside me though until I pass my driving test and finally get my license ☀
Friends who have sat in my car before, don't you dare burst my bubble of happiness by commenting on how bad my driving was before. I am sorry for all the times I got us lost or nearly crashing into others ok.
Ha, can finally drive falalalala~♪
I Love You Daddy
Thursday, June 19, 2008
A late Father's day post of sorts which I shall slot in now before my humongous Chalk Festival post =) We went to Islands which is some tropical-like restaurant which is so Hawaiian I like I like I LIKE!!!
Originally, I planned to take my daddy out ALONE just me and him for lunch like since goodness knows how long I've been harping about it hor but my mean family won't allow it. Especially 2nd sis who try to rope my mom in shooting down my plans.
I AM GRUMPY. I plan this lunch for MONTHS ok ci you chi li stupid 2nd sis what is wrong with her always trying to ruin my plans by forcing herself into my outings with daddy all the time.
The food is delicious ok the Hawaiian Burger is scrumptious ok with it's terriyaki sauce and its so huge I had to cut it into 4 pieces to be able to eat it lol.
Anyway, thank you daddy for taking care of me when I was a baby. I know I know, I was the only one out of the four whom you personally clean and feed and I promise I would always be there for you when you're old ok so you can stop reminding me of it lol.
You were the one who offer to buy my first cosmetic when mom was against me for reasons unknown, you were the one who always give me massages when I am sick, who buy cincau and stuff when I have fever, who accompanies me when I shop for clothes because my fashion sense is nil =C , who suggest all sorts of hopeful remedies when I am suffering from period pains lol, who ALWAYS help me out when I am in need, who always give me tons of advices, who always take me out alone to various places so we can just talk about everything in life, for traveling to other places together with me, for training me in doing various stuff like organizing events etc.
I love how I can talk to you on just about everything, how I can just snuggle right beside you and talk about frivolous stuff like hair and fashion and the latest trends before mommy shoo me away. You were there for me when I was so alone and lost without friends, who held my hand and prayed for me, who encouraged me and tell me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. Thank you for all the little things you taught me like washing cars, mowing lawns, fixing lights/furniture, hanging stupid lanterns -which I hated but did anyway because you kept sprouting 'words of wisdom' about how traditions are passed on like these- etc. so I can be more independent and need not rely on others too much.
And hahaha it turns out that I am now BETTER than you in doing DIY stuff even when you're years older than me and a guy hahaha XD Daddy is not so amazing anymore hohoho ^^
I love you also for always trying to join in my fandoms like watching animes/J-dramas with me, taking me out to various Japanese restaurants when you know how I am so crazy about Japan, blasting my Jay Chou's CDs loud loud at times, for putting up with my stupid rants about how hot a certain star is and pestering you for your opinion XD Although sadly, you still disagree about Tegoshi =C Oh well.....
Words can't describe the amount of things you did for me as the list would be soooo long. I like the bond we share that none of my 3 sisters have and that makes me feel a teeny bit special =) You're my world and my everything and the BEST daddy a girl could ever have!!! Because of you I have confidence in myself and in life.
I love you so much and I promise with all my heart that I am so buying you TONS OF STUFF when I have a career of my own in the future ok because nothing I do can ever repay you for shaping me into the person I am today =)
No matter how old I get, I would always be your little eldest girl ^^
Birthdays & Plays
Sunday, June 15, 2008
Am super busy these few days with various events so I'm sorry for all the overdue replies =C Anyway, here's to a fangirling-and-lameness free post for today XD
Celebrated 4th sis 10th birthday at Kononia Playground yesterday morning and man is it HOT. I think I prefer cold weather over hot because you can layer up when cold but you can't strip your skin off when you're hot ok.
Her friends and her stuffing their faces.
I am jealous at how easily my 2 younger sisters are able to make friends as soon as they arrived here while me and 2nd sis struggled hard to fit in. Being a kid must be fun. Every other person is seen as an extra playmate and there is no such thing as racial or social differences in their eyes.
No matter how hard we grown-ups try, we still find it easier and more comfortable when with people of the same race. I mean I still have fun going out with people of different races but somehow there is a difference when you're out with Asians cause you have the comfort of knowing that your cultures are basically the same and they can actually understand you without you needing to explain yourself numerous times when it comes to certain topics.
Ok enough ramblings ^^<
Shameless vanity pics because I was in a camwhoring mood that day and simply because I CAN =P I don't want smile with teeth cannot meh? My teeth not straight anymore ok :sadface: and I blame the dentist back in Kuching who said that it was useless for me to make it super straight because it would soon revert back after a few years.
Total crap ok cause by the time it becomes slightly crooked I would be MARRIED by then asjklasda so who cares anymore??? What I need is SUPER STRAIGHT teeth NOW ok to kao super hot bishies while I am still young and looking ajgsjkdsladkalgsah.
I like this angle can?! Shall use this angle everytime liao from now onwards hohoho.
Sure win way of guaranteeing fat-free faces in photos ok! Who needs photoshop anymore? Just suck your cheeks in! And shaddap, I don't want to hear how chio/pretty 2nd sis is ok or I will shrivel you up with my sourness hmph.
Gift bows are all the latest rage in LA now didn't you know? You can wear it as a belt buckle, a brooch or even as a cute hair accessory like what I am doing now hahaha.
Yeah yeah, I should smile with teeth cause it looks like I'm on the verge of tears agjlsakalgjkgsa I dislike my mouth, too short la ok haih got such thing as mouth extension surgery or not ar?
Attended a dinner cum play in the night entitled "Joe: The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man" and omg I now declare that I LOVE PLAYS!!!! SUPER AWESOME CAN?!?!?! Nothing like the so called plays I've seen before. This play totally blew me away and I had so much fun laughing my head off that night =DDD
It was held at our church as one of their 125th anniversary events and the ambiance was wonderful =D Oh the actors are professionals from um *tries hard to recall the name* um ah *gives up* A-- something University and performs all over the state. Or was it country? *frowns* Can't remember. Anyway, I love the churches here, so warm and friendly and just simply lovely =D
Food is love ok. Super delicious! Forget about dieting. I need only lose just a little bit weight then I can become like Crystal Kay liao. I love Crystal's body la ok so chio I want I want I waaaaant...
Start of the play....Very funny (not haha funny but oooh funny haih what am I talking about -_-) hor the play cause that guy is acting as the narrator yet at the same time he is also part of the play so the line is kinda blurred, which is awesome cause by doing so, the audience feels like they are a part of the play itself.
Joe is the last guy in the blue cap. He is SO DARN CUTE hor always fumbling around, trying to excel but falling short, idolizes his dad, always trying to be the nice guy to make people happy alsskdadjalsa I love guys like this can can can???? Imperfectness is perfect =)
He has cute looks too and I'm sorry I couldn't take better pics cause I was too far away and my dad's camera is plain sucky and mine ran out of batteries =C
Ok here are some lines I love which I remembered and is short enough for me to write down cause there were so many good lines I can't possibly write all lol.
Airhead: I'm going to Berkeley!! But I want to go to Pepperdine cause hot guys are blablabla
Friend: So what are you studying?
Airhead: Study??? There is studying?
Friend: *rolls eyes* I mean what course are you taking?
Airhead: Oh! I'm taking journalism! I guess....*frowns*
Friend: Oh that is perfect for you!
Airhead: Really? *beams*
Friend: Oh yes, everyone knows that journalism is nothing but.........organized gossip XD
Settling divorce papers cause his wife ditched him while he was in the army.....
Office woman: *stamps papers 4 times* ok done! NEXT!
Joe: That's all???
Office woman: What'd you mean that's all? NEXT!
Joe: Wait! You mean divorces are that easy??? How can that be?! It shouldn't be like---
Office woman: Hey don't blame me, you killed the marriage and I just bury it. NEXT!
and no more cause there is just too many and the best part was Joe babysitting the pastor's teenage daughter who is suffering from short term memory lost due to a car accident. Omg, most hilarious scene and script I have ever seen and heard before in my entire life ok! XD
But it's not a comedy but in fact a story about a guy who suffer so many hardships yet still persevere in God. They are so good, they make me tear up ok it's like watching a movie omg I never knew plays were that awesome!!! Love love love~
Anyway, one last final pic to end this post:
Me and daddy dearest
Ah what the heck, crooked teeth or not, shall just smile WIDE WIDE cause I am too happy to care how I look like anymore.
