Colours Cafe

Friday, June 9, 2006
Today I had lunch with my parents at The Colours. This cafe started out as a fairly decent and funky place but has gotten lousier and cheap ever since. And no I'm not talking about the price which are still as atrocious as ever. A normal plate of sweet & sour fish is priced at RM6.50. By the way, don't try the 108 noodles. It's just a fancier name for the packet instant mee goreng you can buy in stores at 2.50 per packet (inside got 5 again.

Had to wait for a FREAKIN 20 MINUTES for my food to be served. One scoop of rice and a few slices of beef so hard to prepare mer? My guess is that they butcher a live cow everytime you order beef so hence the long wait. You think that by waiting so long the food would be extra nice but NOOOO!!!! The soup was COLD and looks horribly like mucus, no really the colour does. I guess it does lives up to its name (The Colours) albeit the weird colours. Some of us only got a measly portion of 5-6 pieces of beef while the freakin blind chef totally missed out on my gravy. I WANT MY GRAVY you incompetent chef!!! The reason I order black pepper beef and not salad chicken was for the gravy and you just RUINED my lunch and my mood.

By the way, there was this cow of a waitress serving us. Just after reapeating your order, she'll write down a totally different one and you had to repeat it to her again. Airhead...minus the beauty. Serve also don't know how to serve. Walk halfway nia and spilled an entire tray of ice-cream clumsily all over the floor. As if it was MY fault she had feet for hands, she starts shooting us dark looks and SLAMS our food unceremoniously down on the table. Ciken. I wanted to give her a piece of my mind right there and then but decided not to as my parents was there so just gave her the nastiest look I could muster. My fault you're so slow and clumsy mer?? And STOP flicking your hair every 7 seconds, you are NOT a shampoo model. Seeing your dull lifeless face alone is stressful enough to our eyes and we do not need the extra worries that your 'flicked' hair might end up in our soup.

I don't exactly have a picture of her so I came up with the next best thing so you can avoid her if you ever go back there, that is IF you want to go back. Trust me, its not worth it. Nah, the next best picture of her...

No really....She does looks like this with her si beh sien face and typical straightened dyed hair.

The Colours Cafe standard has really gone downhill. Not only the food sucks, the service sucks too. What happened to all those cute waiters in the very beginning ar??!! And the bill?? RM32 for 4 plates of black pepper beef rice plus drinks. The soup was unedible. You could get this kind of food at SCR for exactly half the price with nicer waitresses. The Colours is sooooo not worth it. I am still seething at the horrible service. Trust me, the only colour you'll see after a meal spent there is RED.
